Welcome to my website! A little about Me... I am Kim Eastwood. Owner and Breeder of Eastwood Great Danes located in Argos IN. I have had Great Danes for many years now (Over 12) and have been completely consumed by the breed. I will always be a student of the breed as I continue my research on health, nutrition, conformation and sound movement. I enjoy all aspects of owning, living with and breeding Great Danes. I thrive on the never ending learning and never ending sharing of what I have learned about this breed. I have met some of the nicest people on this earth through my love of Great Danes. These dogs have truly enriched my life and given me so much more than I could have ever imagined. A lot of hard work and dedication goes in to this endeavor. It is not for the faint at heart nor should ever be taken lightly. I urge people to do research and please not purchase from back yard breeders. They are the SOLE reason for the need for shelters, rescues, humane societies, sad commercials about animal abuse etc. Purchase your pet or show prospect from a reputable breeder who has put the work in and who takes FULL responsibility for the lives he or she creates. You will NOT EVER find an Eastwood Great Dane in a rescue situation. I take responsibility for my Danes and for each and every life I have created. I seek the best of the best homes and am so proud of my owners and am so happy for the Danes owned by them. I will never sell my puppies to pet stores or puppy mills or anyone who I feel does not have the best interest of my Danes in their hearts or minds. All of my pet quality Danes go out on limited registration. No exceptions! My pups MUST come back to me should the new owners become unable to care for them for ANY reason for their entire life. My pups will only go to homes that have adequate space, and where they will live indoors & be part of a family. Potential owners will be screened. So many Danes end up in shelters because people had no idea they were going to get so big or they slobber to much or they destroyed a sofa in under an hour !!! If you have room in your home and in your heart for a Great Dane, please consider a rescue Dane before you purchase a puppy. Know what you are getting in to. Plan ahead for training. Make sure you can 100% care for a Dane for his or her entire life. Plan on your Dane being a family member, as living inside is a must for a Great Dane. Do some soul searching of your own and think about the what IF's- What if my Dane were to bloat. Can you afford an emergency surgery? Will you be able to spend the bigger part of the day with your Dane? Do you have plenty of patience for potty training? Most Danes potty train very easy, some take a while to catch on. Be prepared to put alot of dedication, work and time and money into owning and loving a Great Dane puppy. Danes can have a huge impact on your life. They are loyal, loving, funny companions. You will need to be Loyal & Loving in return. I have a very limited vaccine protocol that I demand of my puppy owners. I also feed a raw diet and hope that people would do the same although I realize it just isn't possible for every family. There are a few quality kibbles that I will suggest for you.
